Last Chance to see Theatre Through Time!

This coming Wednesday, August 19th, will be the last chance this year to see our popular Theatre Through Time event along the Silver Queen Mine Trail.

“Follow the Silvery Road” is a fun piece of outdoor theatre for the park and Friends staff to perform along the trail. Shows are at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Space is limited, so please pre-register (see below).

Formerly known as our popular Spirit Walk, this Theatre Through Time event will see Dorothy (not in Kansas anymore… North Burgess, in fact) lead you down the trail to meet characters like the timid miner, mysterious gypsy, the wise old foreman and a wickedly grumpy farmer’s wife, among others. As you may have guessed, this show gives more than a couple of nods to the Wizard of Oz.

Tickets are $3 each and need to be reserved in advance (to do so, call the park at 613-267-5060, dial 0 to talk to a real person). You also need a camping or day-use permit for your vehicle. That can be purchased at the registration gatehouse or at “the door” (the Lally Homestead Parking Lot) just before the event.

The Friends have been big supporters of this event over the years. Friends Director Stephanie Gray volunteered to write this year’s script and the Friends are also paying for the wonderful music-filled ambience at the final scene along the trail.  We hope to see you there!
