Happy 150th, Canada!

Join the Friends to celebrate Canada’s 150th on Saturday, July 1 at Murphys Point!

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., head down to the main beach and enjoy a fundraising barbecue hosted by the Friends. At 1 p.m. Tay Valley Township Reeve Keith Kerr joins us to cut the Canada Day cake – come and celebrate!

At 2 p.m. at the beach, join Park Staff Emily and Grace for “Family Fishing Fun” as they drag their seine net through the shallows looking for minnows and more. They’ll also have some pond-dipping nets available too, so bring your swimming costume and expect to get wet!

Come to the amphitheatre at 8 p.m. for an evening of folk music and stories by The History Buffs – a trio of musicians. Fiddle, voice, guitar and other instruments will have you tapping your toes and singing along.

If you’re not already camping at the park, day passes can be purchased at the gatehouse, giving you access to park facilities for the whole day. Hope to see you there!

Thanks to Canadian Heritage for support for these activities!
