Healthy Parks Healthy People!

Come out to Murphys Point this Friday, July 17 to celebrate Ontario Parks’ new “Healthy Parks Healthy People” initiative!

You can visit the park for free that day and take part in a range of awesome activities! There’s a Silver Queen Mine hike at 10 a.m. (please pre-register), followed by a barbecue at the Main Beach hosted by the Friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Opening ceremonies take place at the beach at noon, and then you can take part in the Murphys Point Magnificent Race at 12:30 p.m., which is an excellent opportunity for families to have fun and explore the park over an hour or two!

Silver Queen Mine Open House on Sunday!

Join park staff and the Friends of Murphys Point this Sunday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a Heritage Mica Days event – an Open House at the Silver Queen Mine!

Picture this: The year is 1908 and the Silver Queen Mine is in its heyday of operation! Venture down the trail and into the mine. Meet up with characters from days gone by along the way.

Actually…you don’t need to picture it. Just come! A daily vehicle or camping permit can be purchased at the park, and parking is available at the Lally Homestead.

Help Us to Celebrate on Canada Day!

Join the Friends for some Canada Day cake and lots of fun on the main beach on Wednesday, July 1!

We’re celebrating Canada’s 148th birthday with live music, a barbecue, a birthday cake, stories and games! The fun begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m. with the cutting of the birthday cake.

If you’re not already camping at the park, day passes can be purchased at the gatehouse, giving you access to park facilities for the whole day. Hope to see you there!
