Autumn is in the Air!

The air is a lot crisper and the flurry of summer activities is now over, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do at Murphys Point! The Friends still have a couple of Heritage Mica Days activities this fall, and the park’s Natural Heritage Education staff will be offering mine hikes at designated times. The visitor centre will also be open at certain times on the weekend.

Last Chance to Win a Canoe!

Time is running out for you to get your raffle tickets for our annual draw! Again this year we are offering a beautiful 16-foot Trailhead Prospector Canoe, which is on display at the Park Store. The fibreglass canoe comes with ash web seats, a flat ash yoke, vinyl gunnels, two paddles and two PFDs and is valued at $1,500. Proceeds from the raffle go toward Friends’ activities and programs.

Tickets are on sale at the Park Store for $2 each or 3 for $5. The draw will be held this Sunday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. at Hogg Bay Beach. Be sure to check out the great sale of Friends’ merchandise in the store while you are there, and click on the owl on the right to see all the great activities at the park this weekend!
