SKIP aims to help kids connect with nature through a range of exciting sessions promoting active and healthy living.

SKIP is offered in winter/early spring and in the fall for 7- to 10-year-olds on Sundayafternoons at the Lally Homestead and other locations within Murphys Point Provincial Park. We provide:

Six two-hour programs per session led by volunteers with a wide range of expertise

A volunteer-to-child ratio of approximately 1 to 5

A take-home workbook

Fun, seasonal, educational activities such as scavenger hunts, cross-country skiing, nature crafts, shelter building, outdoor cooking and campfires, snowshoeing, orienteering, Discovery Hikes with field naturalists, birding, amphibians and reptiles, pond studies, canoeing, pioneer lifestyles, geology, and so much more!

Healthy snacks, shelter, outdoor washroom facilities and equipment provided
Studies show incredible benefits for kids who are connected with nature. SKIP is designed to achieve these benefits.
