New message from Friends Secretary

Happy Summer, Friends 🙂

Early breaking news…

Your Board of Directors met with Curtis Thompson (Superintendent) and Tobi Kiesewalter (Senior Natural Heritage Education Leader)  in the Park office, yesterday. We are planning to cut the ribbons, pour the champagne, and celebrate the new bridge to the McParland House, on Sunday 24 June.

Festivities will begin at 10:30 am with the first event of the 2012 Mica Festival, a Voyageur Canoe Tour, and, at noon, a barbeque on the beach. And, if the strawberries cooperate, the Friends will be hosting a Strawberry Social. Then, Tobi will lead a hike to the bridge at 2 pm. As the party comes together, we’ll post updates here

Please join us, if you can!

However, it will be busy…

We are inviting our partners – the Rideau Trail Association and the Tay Valley Ski Club. As well, day before is the Kilt Run in Perth, and there are already lots of reservations at the Park. Looking forward to seeing you,

Linda McLaren
