The Friends had a chance to congratulate our 2012 canoe raffle winner earlier in September when he visited to the park to claim his prize.
Don Lewis of Perth had the winning ticket and is shown above (centre row, third from left) shaking hands with President Cindy Deachman, accompanied by a friend at right and his children, Mason and Madison Miller, in the front row. Also shown are Friends volunteer Kirsten Coughler (centre row, far left), who sold the winning ticket at the fundraising garage sale event in May, as well as (back row, from left) Vice-President Judy Fletcher, Director Stephanie Gray and Secretary Linda McLaren.
Don won a 16-foot, fibreglass Trailhead Prospector Canoe with ash web seats, a flat ash yoke and vinyl gunnels from Ottawa Paddle Shack, along with two paddles and two PFDs (donated by Canadian Tire in Perth). The whole package is worth about $1,500 and proceeds support our programs.
Thanks to all who supported the raffle!
