Looking for a socially distanced way to support the Friends of Murphys Point? We hope so!
Since we haven’t been able to host our usual yummy barbecues or other fundraising events involving crowds of people over the last year or so due to pandemic restrictions, we’re bringing a fundraiser to you!
Thanks to the generosity of numerous donors, the Friends will be hosting a silent auction starting on June 27! The auction will be hosted on our public Facebook page. All the items will be pictured with a description and minimum bid amount. You will have up to noon on July 11 to place your bid in the comment section.
Items include paintings by local artist Barb Sohn, a private birding session with our Park Naturalist, gift certificates to fantastic local businesses, a package from the Rideau Trail Association, a beautiful hand-crafted elm bowl by local artisan Robert Roszell, a maple syrup package, and hand-crafted Cree beadwork earrings.
Your support helps the Friends to support natural and cultural education at Murphys Point through hiring students, developing displays and publications, providing special programming and much more.
Stay tuned for all details – and thanks in advance for your support!
