Happy Canada Day from the Friends!

A great time was had at the main beach at Murphys Point on Wednesday, July 1, where the Friends of Murphys Point Park hosted their annual fundraising Canada Day BBQ – complete with free birthday cake!

A huge thank you to our group of intrepid volunteers (from left, Pat, Tara, Steph, Brian, Dave and Kev) who braved the heat to serve up tasty barbecued treats, chips and drinks to raise funds for Friends’ initiatives. Special thanks to Kev and Tara for organizing! Much appreciation also to our Friends students Sarah and Amelia, who helped to coordinate the day, as well as Park staff who helped to get us all set up.
